Self-audit contains contradictory and overly generic findings
Ran an unlisted AEO audit of crawlproof.com: https://crawlproof.com/r/miPiX904G3SL1pp3mzBmQs-_ . Concrete QA issues: (1) Homepage Audit correctly detects a 171-char meta description, but Recommended Fixes later says 'Add a meta description' as if none exists. (2) Images reports 0/1 modern and also 0 legacy images, then recommends conversion; SVG/other formats should not be penalized. (3) The broken link evidence is a timeout to vu1nz.com, while the recommendation says 4xx/5xx. (4) Optional schema types such as LocalBusiness, VideoObject, HowTo, Person, and Article inflate 84 warnings and depress the score for a SaaS homepage. Suggest separating applicable failures from optional opportunities and preserving the exact evidence in fix text. Bonus UX: while scanning, all 21 sections show 'No findings', which reads like a clean result instead of pending.

Report says 0/1 pages fetched, homepage HTTP 429, yet assigns 29/100 and claims H1, CTA, pricing link and JSON-LD missing; performance even passes 0 KB / 0 resources and healthy 100% text-to-HTML ratio. The homepage visibly has its heading, Get started CTA and Pricing link. These dependent findings should be unknown/not evaluated when fetch fails. Please mark the audit incomplete, suppress derived content fixes, distinguish error-response headers from homepage headers, and honor Retry-After when present. Also label the unchecked-visibility report UNLISTED SHARE LINK instead of PUBLIC SHARE LINK. Tested and promising tool for influencers
I tested the free audit on a test site. The interface is clean, the scan is fast, and the report is well-structured. I especially liked the 'Slop Score' and the concrete recommendations to improve visibility with AI. However, there is no option to export the report as a PDF directly from the results page without giving an email. Also, the 'Ads' section could use a sample ad rendering to better understand the format. Overall, it's a promising tool for content creators who want to be cited by ChatGPT and Perplexity.
